Can you believe it's been a whole week since I told you about stuff I like on the internet? I can, because that's how time works. I've got a lot of really great stuff for you this week. If you've got something you want me to share on this page, leave a comment down below. I literally have dozens of readers and any exposure is good exposure!
Wil Wheaton wrote an excellent essay about something a lot of content creators are faced with. We grow our audience by sharing our content with people, and not everybody is able to make money doing that. This article was especially interesting to me as someone who both creates content, and someone who works for companies that can offer exposure for their brands or products. It's a very difficult balance.
Yes, you read that right. I was doing some "research" for the blog post I'm putting out on Friday and I stumbled upon this fan fiction that combines the movie Sleepless in Seattle with the television show Frasier. I am truly in awe of the internet and I love that there is finally a place that people can share their weird passions with the world. I read the whole thing and was both inspired and confused. I still have no idea what Frasier is even about but I'm always down for some Sleepless in Seattle (more on that this Friday).
I know it's a little self serving to link my own video in this series, so that's why I'm putting it last. If you didn't get a chance to watch the live broadcast I did on Periscope last Sunday, I put together this little highlight video of some of my favorite moments.
I had SO much fun streaming while I baked. We had all sorts of people watching and interacting, some were baking along with me, and there was even a professional pastry chef who was commenting in and giving me tips. Periscope is a really neat way to communicate with people all over the world. I hope you'll join me this Sunday for the next one!
Warning: Vertical Video (sorry, it's what works best on periscope)
