New year, new stuff on the internet to be obsessed with.
Have I shared this blog with you guys before? I'm obsessed with it. It's full of awesome design elements, fun recipes and beautifully styled photo shoots. I pull a lot of inspiration from the creator, Bri's, new house now that I'm in the process of (finally) decorating my apartment. Lots of really pretty pictures to look at as well.
Basically these two guys just put stuff in their beards and take photos of it. I'm really into it. My favorites so far are the ones that involve glitter, because I have this sick fantasy where I get to be covered in glitter at all times. I'm excited to see what other neat things theses guys will do in the name of art.
Show - [Insert Era Here] House
Okay. So this is like Great British Bake Off in the sense that it's not original online programming, but all the episodes are available on YouTube. So that counts. Whatever. It's my blog. There are no rules here.
Basically there's this entire genre of Historical Reality Television that I recently discovered and am completely obsessed with. They take families from the 21st century and stick them into accurate recreations of certain time periods. They stick them in a Victorian house, or a Texas Ranch, or newly formed Colonial Settlement and the families have to live in a way that accurately represents the time period. It's fascinating, educational and I cannot stop watching.
There's lots to learn about the evolving roles of men and women throughout time, and it also gives you a newfound respect for the struggles our ancestors went through. I'm linking the first episodes of each respective season, but feel free to look up more. This genre really blew up in the early 2000's and there are plenty of replica shows.
